Day 9 – Le Havre

After another day at sea we’ve reached the port of Le Havre in Normandy. Yesterday was another quiet day with lots of sunshine, small bits of food and long naps, or was it the other way around?!

Also last night another Gala night onboard, the last one of this trip, I checked. Couldn’t wear my shirt for another night because I spilled the orange sauce of the Duck-a-la-Orange over it.

This morning we arrived in this French port, it’s also International Maritime Day today, although nothing shows it’s different from other days. We both stay on board, a visit to Mont Saint Michel or Paris, which is a 3 hour drive (200 km) one way is too much. We can reach it by train from Amsterdam faster (550 km).

We enjoy the sun on the deck, read our books, Dad is almost finished with #3, I just started with #5. Next to that we talk with each other but also other passengers, and since we speak several, including hands and feet, there’s always a subject.

Tonight we cross the English Channel to Southampton, we’re not sure yet if we go off-board. A certain gentleman celebrates his birthday and I don’t know what his plans are.
