The One That Got Away…

Pride-walk-2014-PS

Especially for Anne-Marie in Philly!

Me in my (too tight) Pride Walk Crew T-shirt on arrival at Homo Monument near Westermarkt.

Where my friends walked at the front of the demonstration, I drove at the end, trying to keep the last persons together and giving them an extra boost when they crossed streets too slow.

A big thank you to our boys and girls in blue. Or as they call themselves Pink in Blue. In the Netherlands police, army, navy and fire brigades have their own gay associations and are visible during Pride. But also when you want to talk to a certain person at a station about some situation.

It’s great to live in a country where you’re really free in what to think, believe or do. It says so in Article 1 of our Constitution.

Article 1
All persons in the Netherlands shall be treated equally in equal circumstances. Discrimination on the grounds of religion, belief, political opinion, race or sex or on any other grounds whatsoever shall not be permitted.
