Shopping List:

  • 450 gr or 1 pound bacon
  • 350 gr or 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 5 green onions, chopped
  • 35 gr or ¼ cup sunflower seeds
  • 35 gr or ¼ cup golden raisins
  • 235 ml or 1 cup low fat mayonnaise
  • 100 gr or ½ cup white sugar
  • 90 ml or 6 tablespoons red wine vinegar

  1. Place bacon in a large skillet.
  2. Cook over medium-high heat until evenly browned.
  3. Cool, crumble, and set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, toss together broccoli, green onions, sunflower seeds, raisins, and bacon.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sugar, and red wine vinegar.
  6. Toss with vegetables to coat.
  7. Cover, and chill until serving.

Note 1: Use Splenda or Candarel instead of sugar.
Note 2: You can use also dried cherries for the raisins.
Note 3: Substitute the sunflower kernels with slivered almonds.
