Shopping List:

  • 455 gr or 1 pound mild Italian turkey sausage, casings removed
  • 455 gr or 1 pound ground turkey
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 120 gr or 1½ cups rolled oats
  • 80 gr or ½ cup chopped onion
  • 120 ml or ½ cup milk
  • 15 ml or 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 gr or 1 teaspoon Italian-style seasoning
  • 1 gr or ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3 gr or ½ teaspoon salt
  • 475 ml or 2 cups spaghetti sauce
  • 5 dashes hot pepper sauce
  • 15 ml or 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 ml or ½ teaspoon liquid smoke flavoring

TO MAKE:

  1. Preheat oven to 175° C or 350° F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, sausage, eggs, oats, onion and milk.
  3. Season with 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder and salt.
  4. Mix well and form into a loaf.
  5. Place into a 32.5 x 23-centimeter or  9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. In a separate small bowl, mix together the spaghetti sauce, hot sauce, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke.
  7. Smooth over the entire meatloaf.
  8. Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes.

Note: Use Italian Bread Crumbs instead of oatmeal.
