Salad Time #01

Broccoli Salad

Makes 4 servings

Shopping List:

  • 1 head fresh broccoli
  • 1/2 red onion
  • 125 gr or 1/4 pound bacon
  • 60 gr or 1/3 cup raisins
  • 40 gr or 1/3 cup sliced almonds
  • 130 ml or 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 55 gr or 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 15 ml or 1 tablespoon white wine vinegar


  1. Place bacon in a deep skillet and cook over medium high heat until evenly brown.
  2. Cool and crumble.
  3. Cut the broccoli into bite-size pieces and cut the onion into thin bite-size slices.
  4. Combine with the bacon, raisins, the sliced almonds and mix well.
  5. To prepare the dressing, mix the mayonnaise, sugar and vinegar together until smooth.
  6. Stir into the salad, let chill and serve.

Note: You can also use your favorite nuts instead of the sliced almonds.
