Getting ready for the ‘big performance’ today…

A little dusting of the Throne…

While on the beach at Scheveningen* [yes, I know it's a tongue breaker]…

The horses get trained within smoke and to the sound of rapid gun fire and fireworks…


But also to get away quick while fully loaded…


Famous Dutch skies near the North Sea, with loads of space…


Or squeezed together on the Inner Court in front of the Ridderzaal [Knights Hall]


Getting to know the route from Noordeinde Palace towards Ridderzaal.

*During the last years of WW2, the name of “Scheveningen” was used to separate the Germans invaders from the English-speaking resistance fighters. The Dutch have no trouble pronouncing the name, germanic languages start with a softer SCH which sounded more like SZ and our UK, US and Canadian resistance fighters start with SK…
