What Came First?

Most of us have given up on the whole “chicken or the egg?” thing years ago. Meanwhile Kyle Bean has found a whole new approach to the question. Of course as a visual designer and model maker, Bean’s solution involves far less philosophizing and a heck of a lot more glue. His latest project, titled “What Came First?” is made up of egg shells that he painstakingly pieced together to form a chicken figure. Existing simultaneously as both eggs and a chicken, this piece seems to visually come to the same conclusion that most people do—there’s really no telling which came first! Either that or it proves that both chickens and eggs originate from some kind of terrible chicken-egg monster… in which case I think it’s best that we not question this stuff.

Have a look at the other things he’s making, like insects made from match sticks.
